Help
Text (SMS) alerts — what we send, how to stop them — and how to manage or delete your account. Text alerts are always optional; everything on CampingSorted works without them. Need a person instead? Email us.
Need a human?
Email support@campingsorted.com. CampingSorted is a small service — write anytime; we aim to reply within one business day.
What CampingSorted is
We watch the campsites you choose and tell you the moment one frees up, so you can book it yourself on the park’s official site. We never book on your behalf, and we’re not affiliated with any park agency or reservation system.
Text alerts are optional
You never have to agree to receive text messages to use CampingSorted:
- Alerts are delivered by email and browser notification. Texting is an extra choice on top, not a requirement.
- Agreeing to texts is not a condition of any purchase, and is not required to create an account, set up watches, or receive alerts.
- Signing in by text is optional, and separate from alert texts. You can sign in with a one-time, expiring link sent to your email address, or choose to have us text you a 6-digit code instead. That code is a one-time verification message — not an alert, not marketing — and choosing it does not sign you up for alert texts. Email sign-in is always available.
- Turning texts off never turns anything else off.
Keywords
Reply to any CampingSorted text with:
- STOP — unsubscribes you from CampingSorted texts immediately. We send one final message confirming you’re unsubscribed, then nothing further. Your watches and email alerts keep working.
- HELP — replies with our name and this support contact.
- START (or UNSTOP) — resubscribes you if you previously replied STOP and want texts back.
You can also turn texts off, or delete your data entirely, by emailing support@campingsorted.com.
How you opt in
Only you can turn texts on, and only from a phone you are holding. In the alert setup, choose Text message as the delivery channel and enter your own mobile number. We then text a 6-digit code to that number; typing the code back is what turns texts on. Until you do, we send nothing but that code.
There is no consent tick-box, on purpose. A box is a click — anyone can make it, against any number. A code we text to the handset can only be completed by whoever is holding it, so it proves the number is actually yours. That is stronger evidence of consent than a checkbox, not weaker, and it is the record we keep.
We never add a number we weren’t given directly by its owner, we never buy or import number lists, and we never share your number or your consent with anyone for marketing.
What we send, and how often
Only what you asked for: the one-time 6-digit code that turns texts on, an alert when a campsite you’re watching opens, and the occasional service message about your account. Message frequency varies — it depends on how many sites you watch and how often they free up. We don’t send marketing blasts.
Cost, carriers, and coverage
- Message and data rates may apply. CampingSorted doesn’t charge for texts, but your mobile carrier may.
- We support mobile numbers in the United States and Canada only.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Alerts are best-effort: a text can be delayed or dropped by the mobile network, and a campsite may be gone before you book it.
Your privacy
We use your number only to send the alerts you asked for. We never sell it and never share it for marketing. Full detail — including how to request your data or have it deleted — is in our Privacy Policy, and the service terms are in our Terms. You can also manage your data directly.
Managing your account
I have two accounts — can I combine them?
Yes. This usually happens if you signed in by text once before linking that number to your email — each sign-in method you haven’t linked creates its own account. To combine them:
- Sign in to the account you want to keep, then go to your watches.
- Under Your account, choose Merge another account.
- Pick how you sign in to the other account — email or phone — and sign in to it (a link or a 6-digit code).
- That’s it. Every watch from the other account moves to the one you’re in. If both accounts were watching the same park and dates, we combine those into one watch and keep every alert channel from both. Nothing is lost. The other account is left empty — you can still sign in with it, there just won’t be anything in it.
If you don’t see Merge another account on your watches page, we haven’t switched that feature on yet — email us and we’ll combine them for you.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your watches, then under Your account choose Delete my account. Type DELETE into the box to confirm, then click the button. This removes every watch, stops all your alerts, and erases the email, phone, and push details we hold for you — right away, and it cannot be undone. You can always come back and set up new watches later.
